Robin Bates

Company Secretary and General Counsel

Robin joined Metro Mining at the beginning of 2023, bringing with her more than 20 years’ legal experience gained as a solicitor in private practice and also as in-house legal counsel. Her previous role as a senior executive with a bulk water authority included oversight and responsibility for company secretarial duties, governance, industrial relations / workplace health and safety, risk management and compliance, government relations, internal audit and insurance.

Academically, Robin holds an Honours degree in Law and has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance. She is currently certified to practice as a Legal Practitioner, Chartered Secretary and also as a Risk and Governance Professional and is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In addition to her role at Metro Mining, Robin is also a director of Bella the Brave and the Gladstone Seafarers Centre.
